Mom’s Choice Award Gold Outstanding Young Contributors: Illustration Gerri Field teaches third grade at Mineral Wells Elementary. She wrote Hailley & the Giant, a book about Hailley Parsons, a fourth-grade student who is undergoing radiation treatments to eradicate an inoperable brain tumor. Illustrated by Hailley’s classmates, this book will help to raise money for Hailley Parsons and her family. Jason Lynch, toy maker and well-known children’s author, is partnering with Field on this project. “We are on a mission to sell ‘2013 Books for Hailley’ this year,” Field said.
